Mrs Blanca Arroyo 36 of Austin sister of Baytown residents died in a Pasadena hospital. Funeral held at Colonial Funeral Home Pasadena with burial in Houston. Survived by parents Henry G Garza Pasadena siblings Mrs F F Gongora Baytown Ruben and Ray Garza Baytown brothers and other siblings. Also notes local mothers club and PTA meetings with program on technology in classrooms.

Baytown Group Seeks UHF Channel 50 for Station

A Baytown group filed an application with the Federal Communications Commission to reserve UHF Channel 50 for a Baytown television station. Petitioners include Attorneys George Chandler and Richard Park, Mrs. Hellen Nelson, Dr. W. T. Jones Jr. and Dr. H. W. Kilpatrick. X Ray Unit Due In La Porte

The Harris County Tuberculosis Association's mobile xray unit will be at the Maxim supermarket parking lot in La Porte from 10 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, Jan. 17. Persons wanting the best X rays may get them at the mobile unit. The unit will not return to Baytown until next day.

Lee College Reg Permits Now Available for Spring

Permits for spring term registration at Lee College are now available in the registrar’s office. Registration is planned for January 1 and 24 with classes starting January 5. AJL students must obtain a permit and then have a tentative schedule approved by a counselor or division chair. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Benefit Ball Set To Help Palsy Fund

The fourth annual Baytown crippled Children's Benefit Ball, co sponsored by Baytown Elks and the Knights of Columbus, will be held at KC Hall Saturday night January 23. Proceeds from the $5 per couple donations go to the Baytown Cerebral Palsy Treatment Center building fund. Al Marks and his Orchestra will provide music. last year the event netted over $1,000, with hopes for a higher total this year. Tickets are available from members of either organization.

Baytown Schools Set Rules For Science Fair

Baytown and Chambers County schools will receive the science fair rules for the Greater Houston Science Fair to be held at Sam Houston Coliseum March 31 to April 2. The event offers two divisions for grades 7-12, with senior division topics in biology chemistry physics and mathematics and junior division in mathematics and biological physical or earth science. Grand award winners and their sponsors earn trips to the 18th International Science Fair in San Francisco May 9-13, plus $500 scholarships for four senior division winners. many other cash prizes are planned.
