Trustees Wrangle Over Immunization 2 Board Members To Be Named
The school board set April 1 as election day to fill two trustee seats currently held by Boyd N. Hill and Tillman D. O'Brien. O'Brien serves the unexpired term of the late Karl Opryshek. Filing deadline is midnight March 1 1967 and ballot positions will be drawn March 2 at 6 p.m. at the administration building. The 41 hour session approved bids for cafeteria items and four school buses, discussed employee insurance and resignations, and authorized administrators to attend a convention in Atlantic City. A committee was named to study members for the Tex Equalization Board. The board also allowed use of two junior school gyms for February basketball tournaments.

Talks Underway in Port Arthur Strike By OCCAW
Labor and management work to avert a strike by Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union members. A. F. Grospiron said agreements have been signed with Gulf, Continental, Marathon and about 60,000 workers on 40 contracts. Port Arthur port area plants, including Atlantic Richfield, Texaco, and local Texaco operations, faced partial shutdowns and wage costs estimated at 105000 dollars daily.

Fire damages minor at Humble Baytown Refinery
A fire in a compression unit at Humble Oil and Refining Co Baytown Refinery caused minor damage and no injuries.
