Weatherford Texas January UP Final rites were set for B J Forbes a colorful Church of Christ minister and former state legislator who died at his Tintop farm. Forbes who rode horseback for 57 years preached across Parker County until his horse Ollie died two years ago at 26. He was elected to the state legislature in 1926 and served two terms, once campaigning on horseback. He once halted a whisky still operator during a campaign and later refused to represent Parker County at the Democratic Convention when the delegation was instructed.
