Baytown expects 1967 to be the most progressive year in the city's history driven by industrial growth and a U.S. Steel mill project in West Chambers County. The city completed or progressed major improvements this year with a $3.663 million budget, including road, water, sewer, and facility projects such as a new city hall, street repaving, expansion of treatment plants, and service extensions to Sterling High School and the YMCA.
