Ballinger Funeral Held For Henry Ballinger In Liberty
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Saratoga for Henry Ballinger 56 of Liberty brother of Mrs Mary Bayliss of 4111 Highway 148. He died Sunday morning of a heart attack in Liberty. Immediate survivors include three sons one daughter and three grandchildren. Baymeeting Set TRI-CITY BEACH Volunteer Fire Department will hold its regular monthly meeting at 8 p.m. at the Community Building on West Bay Road. All members and non-members invited to attend. BAYTOWN Emergency Corps will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the organization's headquarters adjacent to the police station on West Mein. WAGOW WHEEL Square Dancers will have a business meeting at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the directors' room of First National Bank.

Cancer Victim Jack Ruby Dies in Dallas Hospital
Jack Ruby, who killed Lee Harvey Oswald on live TV, died at 10 20 am CST in Dallas Parkland Hospital after a decline from pancreatic liver and lung cancer. He had been removed from Dallas County jail on December 9 for a severe cold later diagnosed as cancer. Ruby’s death ends a widely publicized case that began with Oswald’s murder and led to Ruby’s own conviction and death sentence.

Students Readjust After Holiday Break In Baytown
Public schools in Baytown resume on Tuesday with 12 300 students returning as Lee College enrolls 1 800 for a cram session before finals. Dead Week runs January 9 to 16 20 finals, spring registration January 23 24, and classes January 25. High schools hold finals January 17 to 20. Ninth graders move to senior high, no special finals this year. Next holidays include Easter weekend March 24 27 28 and San Jacinto Day April 21.

In Key West and the Florida Keys a band of Cuban and Haitian exiles were arrested Monday night as authorities stopped an attempted invasion plan. Masferrer and leaders announced a three-ship operation to rendezvous and attack Haiti with aim to topple Duvalier, then push toward Cuba. Authorities recovered a truck with 1000 pounds of dynamite and detained 52 in Miami. 79 were reported arrested by customs.

Noted Trumpeter Set Show At REL In Baytown
Noted trumpeter Doc Severinsen will visit Baytown in March to conduct clinics with all Baytown School District bands and perform a special concert with the Robert E. Lee High School Symphonic Band. Tickets go on sale Feb 1 as five area high schools seek reservations for entire bands. Severinsen, TV Tonight show soloist, will also perform with a junior high band the Thursday night before the concert on March 11.
