Suspect shot after domestic dispute on Bob Smith Road
Police say 35 year old Shane Phillips was stopped on Bob Smith Road after attacking Jodi Honeycut at her James Bowie Road apartment. Honeycut, 41, says she ended their relationship. Phillips allegedly beat her causing head and facial injuries. Officers encountered Philips nearby, he threatened them and hurled concrete. Highway 146 Bridge Reduced to One Lane Again
Traffic on the Highway 146 bridge over Cedar Bayou remains down to one lane in each direction for about another week as TxDOT Beaumont District work on a $786,000 project to replace the concrete deck proceeds. Crews began in September to rehabilitate parts of the 1930s structure. the end is in sight with two lanes expected after next week and full completion before summer.

Man in SWAT standoff faces two charges
Baytown man Amel Armando Garza Jr will face two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon when released from hospital after a domestic dispute sparked a SWAT standoff in the 1300 block of Cypress Street.
