Solar powered Laundry Plant Uses Sun to Cut Costs
Bottstown owner Hornig runs a solar heated laundry using a pre heat system to warm water to 126 degrees on sunny days and relies on gas when needed. He paid 14000 dollars for the 30 year system three years ago and expects payback in two to four years. He notes most people hesitate due to upfront costs and limited knowledge, while detailing maintenance as minimal with periodic polyglycol replacement.
