A Baytown man shot his 42 year old wife with a 12 gauge shotgun then killed himself Sunday at 1 p.m. in a Massey Tompkins Road mobile home. A friend found them after knocking and dialing 911. Autopsies pending. families notified.
Chambers County commissioners voted to regulate sexually oriented businesses modeled after Galveston County rules. An annual 1000 dollar permit is required, public notice and possible hearings on health and safety are allowed, and locations must avoid proximity to facilities like child care, churches, schools, hospitals, parks, or other such businesses. Existing firms may be grandfathered though the county excludes Anahuac and Mont Belvieu.
Chambers County considers hosting the Scow Schooner Project in Anahuac next to Fort Anahuac Park. The educational effort seeks a maritime museum for Galveston and Trinity Bay, an estuary education center, and a recreational boat building school, highlighting County ties to early Gulf trade routes.
