Restraint citations start January first in Texas
The Texas Safety Section of the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation says law enforcement will issue citations for noncompliance with the child restraint rule beginning Jan. 1. The rule covers children under two in approved seats and ages two to four in car seats or seat belts with fines from 25 to 50 dollars. Exemptions apply to commercial vehicle operators or scenarios where all seating positions have belts or seats occupied.
