Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning Traditions Remembered
Marilyn Padgett Critzer recalls a Baytown rooted Christmas Eve ritual that spanned generations. Gifts were brought to the tree in turns while others closed their eyes and Santa bells rang. Children opened one package that night, often pajamas, and the family sang carols before reading The Night Before Christmas and the Bible story. Santa leftovers and stockings added to the morning curiosity.
