McNair drainage project completed in Harris County

The Harris County Flood Control District finished a 1.3 million project to improve a Goose Creek drainage ditch in the McNair subdivision. It expanded a concrete line from Wade Road to Harlem Street and added a box culvert from Harlem Road to Harrison Road, with no negative downstream impacts. Ramos Industries Inc. completed the work, which began in March and ran to a few weeks ago, with one contract change order.

Prosecutor says Cheek blood alcohol over twice limit

Ernest Cheek Jr was found to have a blood alcohol content of .20 after his SUV collided with a disabled car on I 10 near Stolander Road, killing two people and injuring two. Prosecutor Darin Darby outlined two counts of intoxication manslaughter in the 180th District Court.
