Ward Road bridge project sparks city council clash
Wilhite urged dedicating 2.37 acres for a roadway right of way and proposed the city buy extra land for bridge construction. Lammers opposed the acreage, citing a $330,000 cost. The council rejected the buy proposal 5-2 after the Texas Highway Department blocked limiting traffic to cars. Discussions touched on state road designation, extraterritorial jurisdiction, and past Ward Road changes.
