Three men broke into Joe’s Drive-in on South Main and were jailed in Baytown within thirty minutes on burglary and theft charges. Ernest Lee Corde, 19, Ray Leonard Rinehart, 23, and Edwin Lee Tones, 26, remained in jail Thursday awaiting bond set by the justice of the peace. An alert Highland resident saw the perpetrators leave the drive-in grocery, obtained the car’s license, and notified Deputy Sheriff Steve Goodnight, who relayed the number to patrol cars. the suspects were arrested near Channelview. Cigarettes and groceries were recovered from the car.
