John Bethea 82 Oil Field Pioneer Dies in La Porte
Funeral services for John Bethea 82 known as an oil field pioneer will be held in La Porte with burial at South Park Cemetery. Bethea moved from Trent in 1916 to Tent City then to La Porte commuting by skiff and ferry before retirement. He celebrated a golden anniversary in 1950. Survived by wife two daughters a son two half brothers nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Dwight Everatt Hesse the four and a half year old grandson of Mr. and Mrs. O J Hesse of Baytown died of bulbar polio in a Houston hospital early Tuesday.
