Dallas folk artist Willard Watson known as The Texas Kid spoke at Texas Christian University about his unconventional path from mechanic to artist. He described early life, front yard sculptures, and how critics, galleries, and collectors helped launch his career with works now shown in New York and California. He urged gentle parenting and patience in creating art, noting his pieces improve with time and interpretation.
