If enacted, average retired couple benefits would rise from 145 to 164 dollars monthly, with all 24.2 million beneficiaries getting at least a 12 percent increase. Single retirees would see 50 to 259.80 dollars, while maximum taxes could reach 44 dollars for workers earning up to 7600 and their employers.
