Parking lot safety tips from Baytown police
Baytown police Detective Brian Parker urges drivers to park carefully and walk with purpose when leaving stores. He advises carrying few valuables, staying alert, walking in groups, and using assertive body language to deter potential thieves. If followed, callers should head to lighted areas, call 911, and draw attention if attacked. Two purse snatchings on Garth Road were reported with no major injuries. The incidents involved a 60 year old and an 86 year old victim, stolen cash cards and a stolen rental car recovered later.
