Baytown Council Rejects CenterPoint Rate Hike
The Baytown City Council unanimously denied CenterPoint Energy rate increases proposed for the Texas Coast Division. The plan would raise revenues by about 5.81 percent, add roughly $7.6 million, and cost customers about $3.71 monthly or $43 yearly. No speakers attended the public hearing, and the council also approved involuntary annexation of a 127.6412 acre tract near FM 565, including railroads and utility rights of way, to be phased in over about a year.
