Goose Creek district plans tax hike for new high school
Goose Creek ISD considers raising the tax rate to 1.03 for 2008 09 to fund Goose Creek Memorial High School and other initiatives. The plan estimates local revenue of 2.68 million and state aid of 1.11 million, with a two cent cut to the interest and sinking rate to soften impact on taxpayers. Board members defend the strategy as fiscally prudent while preparing for hearings later in the year.
