In New York amid inflation fears, stocks fell as energy and commodity prices climbed despite Alcoa posting better-than-expected first-quarter profits. Dow slipped 51.70 to 11,089.63, S&P 500 down 10.05 to 1,286.57, Nasdaq off 22.92 to 2,310.35 while 10-year yields eased to 4.93 percent and gasoline futures rose to 2.054 dollars per gallon. Transported by traders noting Iran and Nigeria turmoil and summer demand, the market weighed higher energy costs against earnings optimism for the coming season.
