Anahuac trustees weigh bleacher upgrade timing
The Anahuac school board discussed bleacher upgrades at Anahuac High School as part of a district facilities plan. Cost estimates range from $73,616 to $79,547 for scaffolding and related work, with total project costs near $200,000 if bleachers are brought up to code. Goose Creek Stallworth Stadium renovation at $1.7 million contrasts with Anahuac’s more limited plan. Trustees consider delaying upgrades due to labor shortages post Hurricane Rita, awaiting bids for auditorium foundation repairs, and funding from a district fund balance and capital improvement fund before April 11.
