Boat crash injures two in Cove near Hugo Point Park
Chambers County Sheriff identifies four hospitalizations after two boats collided at a blind corner near Hugo Point Park in Cove. A 14 year old Louisiana girl and her grandmother Glenda Leccesse were hospitalized after Life Flight and ambulance transport. Two others from the two boats were treated and released. The crash occurred about 3 15 p m Friday and is under investigation by Texas Parks and Wildlife and the Chambers County Marine Division with speed noted as a factor. Sheriff Hawthorne urged water safety as warmer weather draws more boaters and highlighted a new Marine Resource Division.
