Brightwater Seals and fish shortage at Phippsburg
Brightwater Colony residents report dead seal bodies drifting into bathing waters and a marked drop in striped bass caught in the river. Light Keeper Seavey cites few fish this year, while locals blame seals for the poor catch. The Worcester Telegram highlights Katherine Fiske Berry’s Pioneer Doctor of Old Japan, with photos of Berry and her father Dr. Arthur Bassett.
