Bath council weighs bids on factory site and teaching policy
The Bath council debated selling a Richardson Street property for industrial use, with Van Jeffrey Co. proposing a fiberglass related plant and a long term lease. City Manager White noted bids ranged with land value around $5,000 and signaled negotiations may continue. The council also reviewed a Board of Education policy denying first year teachers from out of town, with Chairman Powers defending the practice as standard practice and beneficial for new teachers. Other items covered street repairs, UN Day flags, dump arrangements with West Bath, and departmental monthly activities and contracts.
