Bath Grange Fair Opens With Record Attendance
The seventh annual Bath Grange fair began with the largest opening night attendance on record. Dreamland will show six of the latest pictures, La Rex and Jorge Nichols close their vaudeville engagements, Floyd Russell and Valpo perform tomorrow, Rev Nathaniel Cook to leave Beacon Street church, freshmen Farnham and Palmer invited into the Bowdoin College Epsilon fraternity, and local railroad surveying rumored for Damariscotta to Boothbay. Kennebec yacht club season planned. Vice Commodore Clifford heads the yachtsmen committee. Aleheda Cafe manager Baker buys a fine.

Display of delicacies draws crowds at station lounge
A lobster display yesterday drew attention as samples of daily delicacies were offered. Station Agent Joseph Anderson of the line central had to summon help to remove a drunk man who refused to leave the waiting room near the radiator. The waiting area, decorated by station staff, was described as attractive and comfortable.

On Oct 22, 1909 in the Marine National Bank the city received the residual assets of Lucinda Bailey’s estate per Judge James S. Lowell’s distribution decree. The city officials attended, Alderman Peaslee absent in New York, with J M Trott and W S Glidden acting as city and executor counsel. Dorothy Daby received an antique oil lamp from Irwin B. Daby. a 2,000 year old relic from a Euphrates tomb. Officer Merrill recovered a Bath Loan and Bulls association book and returned it to a girl who had lost it.

Oct 25 1909 Harry A Plummer and Frank R Mason bought the Central Dairy lunchroom on Front Street and plan to open as a first class restaurant. They will rearrange the space by removing counters and adding tables on the north side. In Bowdoinham the business district was burglarized last night with W E Rideout’s store looted of knives watches and pipes.

Fire destroys Stevens-Duryea car at Boston wharf
A big blaze at the Boston boat wharf Saturday evening destroyed H C Baxter's seven passenger Stevens-Duryea after it was wrecked by fire sparked by an earlier burglary through a basement door. City of Rockland steamer aided in extinguishing the flames.

The radio telephone call linked from Java to San Francisco and then Bath with clear reception. Sgt. Johansen, previously at Manila, travels with a United Nations group touring the Pacific and was accompanied by plane from Manila. Dorothy Isabelle Gloria, and brothers Arthur Robert joined the family on the call.

Beacon Lights Club Holds Large Sunday Service
The Beacon Lights club gathered in large numbers at Beacon Street Methodist Church for a Sunday evening service. President James Steen announced hymns and read scripture, with Mrs. Herman Barter giving the prayer and a choral response. Izetta Larrabee read a poem and Mrs. Steen delivered the responsive reading.
