Governor Receives Maine Guide Jacket in Bath Gift
Governor Payne was presented a bright scarlet Maine Guide jacket from Julius Grossman, president of Congress Sportswear, made at Bath plant on Middle Street. The governor’s stepson Thomas Lee also received one. both will wear them on a hunting trip with major league stars in November.
Plaintiffs Win Jury Verdict In Civil Action
After a brief deliberation the traverse jury returned a verdict in favor of plaintiffs John Pucillo and his son against William Cummings owner of a dog that allegedly bit the boy. The elder Pucillo received 50 dollars and the boy 600 dollars. Attorney Harold Rubin represented the plaintiffs and Charles Bartlett appeared for Cummings.

The October term traverse jurors in Sagadahoc County Superior Court were dismissed by Justice Arthur E. Sewall of York on Tuesday morning. A civil case slated for the day did not proceed and Judge Sewall then heard divorce libels and other non jury matters. Mark P. Eagles Map Aid Efforts Across Communities and Nations

RAISES TWO CROPS FROM SAME GARDEN
Chester Totman of 424 Washington street harvested peas from a 16 by 12 foot plot by July 4 earning 10 dollars. In mid July he and neighbor Joseph Gallant planted Canadian seed potatoes and dug eight bushels of large spuds and one bushel of small ones. Totman, a Bath Iron Works retiree, grows other vegetables as a hobby.
