Bridge Gate and Signals for River Span Safety
A crossing gate will sit on the highway deck of the new bridge and drop when the draw span rises for river traffic. Automatic roadway signals will illuminate at night to tell drivers Stop or Go. Signals and gates activate during span raising, with Stop displayed before the gate lowers, then Go after the span lowers and the gate rises. Rail safety signals will guard against train plunges when the span is raised.
