Model Meeting of Theta Chapter Tuesday Evening
Theta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met at Mrs Burke’s Middle Street home. Miss Madge Stacy presided as president. The group sent a Thanksgiving box to Miss Mary Carroll at a bomber base in England and prepared a Christmas box with napkins, decorations, games, and canned food for the base. Members donated tree trimmings for future boxes. Needlework Guild sewing was shared. prizes were awarded for a past presidents pin and a poster celebrating the sorority’s work. The program featured a skit on campus traditions and a Self Analysis segment. Refreshments were served by the hostess with chapter treasurer Mrs Sedgwick pouring.

Bath Woman Sings at the State Federation Session
Mrs Virginia Miller French of Bath represented the Cosmopolitan club at the State Federation of Womens Clubs in Lewiston last Wednesday. A former Lewiston resident, she sang with St Michaels choir Auburn and the Maine Music Festivals chorus. She studied in Boston and led a Providence radio children's program and the Providence Branch International Sunshine Society chorus before returning to Bath two years ago to engage in local musical and club activities.

N Gratz Jackson Dies After Long Illness in Bath
N Gratz Jackson, longtime Bath civic leader and businessman, died at noon on Sunday after a lengthy illness. Born October 20, 1872 in Wiscasset, he built a varied career from teaching to funeral services and electrical work, later guiding J… and Sons. He served in the Maine Legislature and contributed to the Carlton Bridge project, with active Masonic leadership and church involvement. He is survived by his widow Elizabeth Farnham Jackson and four sons.

Social Agencies Council Forms in Bath to Unite Services
A Bath council to unite local social agencies was organized after a well attended meeting called by E H Robinson of the U S O. Attendees included Mayor Rogers, City Treasurer Young, Morse High School’s Herrick, Y M C A’s Perkins, Salvation Army’s Brister, and U S O officials. The group aims to survey recreation needs, map programs, and cooperate with a proposed city recreation committee under a new charter. Herrick named temporary chair, Robinson temporary secretary, with a next meeting set for November 6.
