A large eight ton cannon from the American Legion post grounds on Washington Street is loaded onto a truck by Isaac Miller & Co. of Lewiston for transfer to Bath yards. East Brunswick Home Destroyed by Fire
A fire at 8 30 a m destroyed the one and a half story home of Mr and Mrs Hermon Wright behind a Bath Iron Works plant at Harding station East Brunswick. Shirley Ambrose spotted the blaze and alerted the fire department. The Brunswick department responded and no belongings were saved. Mrs Wright said she and six children spent the night in Bath and Mr Wright had gone to work. Damage estimate unavailable.

Duprey 29 of 36 Hinckley street will receive leave then be assigned to a Navy school shore base or ship. Cromwell a Morse High School 1936 graduate played baseball basketball and track and worked at Bath Iron Works before enlisting. He is married to Lorraine Nadeau with a daughter. Duprey attended Morse High School and has worked on submarines at the U S Navy Yard Portsmouth New Hampshire.
