Hart Enters Bowdoin On Eighteenth Birthday
Loring Edward Hart, top in Morse high School’s 110 graduates, celebrated his 18th birthday by entering Bowdoin College. He is son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Hart of Bath Maine 502 1-2 High St. He held many leadership roles including class treasurer and National Honor Society member. He aims to teach in South America after four years at Bowdoin.

City police plan a farewell party for City Marshal Percy W. Kingsbury at the U S O hall with Lloyd Raffaell and his orchestra providing music for dancing open to the public without admission. Fifty two Lions and seven guests spent an evening with soldiers at Bath Iron Works recreation hall. They toured the Lions Den building, enjoyed an army style baked bean supper, and were entertained by soldiers. Invitees included Val Pisinich and Clyde Sukeworth among others. Ladies night set for Oct 17 at Sedgwick. Edward H. Paine to attend a Portland reception on Oct 9 with Lions handling music.

The Bath City Council awarded the North End sewer project contract to H DiTullio & Co of Hyde Park Mass for 70380 following the highway and sewer board’s recommendation. The council also granted a $25 amusement license, accepted Morse High annex work, approved land sales and hydrant moves, and discussed social welfare funding and Sagadahoc Square congestion.

One of the finest receptions in the Masonic temple honored Maurice J Warner newly elected Department Commander of the Sons of Union Veterans. About 300 patriotic figures attended including Henry Towle and George Jones. The 33rd birthday of the commander was celebrated with gifts and music by Gilbert Greenleaf and others. Boosters' Night at West Bath Grange Attended by Notables

George W. Doddy Rooks of North Bath scored on opening day of the 1942 duck season with eight black ducks and two teal making his full limit. It was his first hunting season in two years due to ill health. Raymond Watson returned home to 407 Washington Street after three months in the Canal Zone where he worked as a government pipefitter after leaving Bath Iron Works.
