In Parker Head and nearby areas, locals recall two mills at the old dam and list owners with multiple mills. The schooner Good Hope, 72 tons, captained by David J. Percy and built in Dartmouth in 1828, carried lumber and wood to Boston. The Percy family produced chief engineers. descendants married into the Leach and McCarty families. Moose sightings alarm area mothers as wildlife roams Meadowbrook and Small Point.
