Advertising across eras shows the changing face of news
A historical look at how ads framed daily life reveals a shift from concise, factual notices in Bath's early pages to modern campaigns. The piece contrasts 1820s shopfronts and long, single-copy ads with wartime restraint in London and the evolving role of the ad writer as a demanding professional navigating competition and public reaction.
