Three hundred new cases of communicable diseases were reported last week across Maine. 12 percent from Androscoggin, six from Franklin, eight from Oxford. Chickenpox leads with 78 cases including 16 in Mechanic Falls. Measles 27 cases with 18 in Camden. Bath recorded four influenza cases. Also calls for bicycle safety registration to curb two youths on a single bike and prevent accidents.

Bath Aerie of Eagles approved 22 membership applications at a special meeting on Friday evening. The class will be initiated Tuesday, raising total members to over 300. Municipal Court Guilty Plea For Improper Registration
Paul Stevens of Woolwich pleaded guilty in municipal court Saturday to operating a motor vehicle with improper registration. Judge Gardiner R. Deering fined him 10 dollars plus court costs, State Trooper John P. Crosby was the complainant. Another intoxication case ended with a guilty plea and a 5 dollar fine plus 5.30 dollars costs. Postmaster Charles H. Cahill, confined by a severe cold, was reported improving Tuesday.
