Wildlife Poster Stamps are sold through fraternal heads in the city and Morse High School with sub chairmen for garden clubs city wide sports clubs Topsham girl scouts and Bath schools superintendent John Parker. A presidential proclamation designates the week of March 1925 as National Wildlife Week to raise public awareness of conserving remaining natural resources and restoring what can be recovered. The National Wildlife Federation, founded in 1938, unites 36 000 clubs and over 2 000 000 members to coordinate conservation work and promote the sale of Wildlife Poster Stamps to fund national and Maine conservation efforts.
The Congress factory explains its process of turning fabric waste into useful products and refines garments based on favorable customer reactions. Veteran employees like Mrs. Sarah I. Dinsmore and Miss Anna M. Conley highlight long service. The plant has run largely year round since its founding, with only a single shutdown during a recent slump, and will continue to supply high quality sportswear from its Middle street location regardless of changing fashion trends.

Miss Elsie L. Trott chairs a committee planning a silver tea Easter Sunday in the new Club Garret rooms at 54 Front Street. The joint Junior club and Club Garret met to organize, with 25 Garret members and 11 Junior members present, and defined access to rooms and future Thursday meetings.
Winter Street Ladies performed the play Our Church Fair after a public supper and West Bath Grange meeting. About 90 meals were served including meat loaf and mashed potatoes. 94 people attended with 39 visitors. funds go to the special repair fund.
A two story wooden dwelling at 197 North Street occupied by Mr and Mrs Alfred Hudon and owned by Mr and Mrs Roscoe Bailey was damaged by fire Saturday afternoon. Alarm from box 53 at 2 20. Hudon had just left home and cannot explain blaze beyond possible stove range spark. Firemen fought with three lines. fear of major guttin g. Hudons moved in four weeks ago. furniture nearly new lost. Mrs Hudon away in Portland visiting relatives.
The Cosmo Club elected officers for the year and held a banquet before the business meeting. Mrs Bagdikian led with assistants and other members helped in dining room decor and table service. Spring flowers from Kennebec Greenhouses colored the tables alongside yellow candles. The menu featured chicken salad and assorted sweets. 65 guests attended. Afterward community singing followed led by Mrs Baer Connard with piano by Mrs Cahoon. Committees for 1938 and upcoming April meetings were announced with many names listed. Mr. and Mrs. Manley Ellis spent the weekend in Boston.
Morse High School Commercial club held a St Patrick's Day program in the school auditorium directed by Miss Agnes Fahey. J Edward Pomeroy designed programs with pipes shamrocks on green paper. Performers included Grace Bennett Alice Coleman Irma Wallace Carol Wood and Thelma Fogg among others with readings dances and Irish melodies.
Bath is one of more than 60 districts organized for the 1939 Women s Field Army for Control of Cancer educational and enrollment campaign. Mrs George B Connard will be captain and Miss Mary Newell publicity director. Maine s 1939 quota is 8000 but the fund needs 25000 yearly for the Scannell Memorial and needy patients. past two years raised 15000 and 17700.
Members of Col. Dummer Sewall chapter attended the first annual State Conference of the Maine Daughters of the American Revolution at Hotel Eastland in Portland last week. Attendees included regent Mrs. Leonard M. Lord and numerous chapter officers and members from Bath and Yarmouth.
Mrs. Epraim French of Bath knew the McDevitts who perished in the Addison blaze that destroyed their home on Thursday. Mrs. Morrison aided the alarm and is French’s niece. Mr McDevitt and Mr French once worked together at the quarry. Lewiston visitor W B Spruce was in the city on business. Morse High senior Amilda Comeau was confined to her Spring street home by illness.
Royal Arch Chapter Montgomery and St. Bernard R A C elected officers at the annual meeting in the Masonic temple on Thursday night. No definite installation date set. Officers include John W. Gillespie high priest Carl E. Albee king Donald Smith scribe Donald D. Young treasurer George J. Goodwin secretary Chester H. Mc Cabe captain of the host Harold E. Cutling principal sojourner Fred Os good royal arch captain N Gratz Jackson member of house committee Harry A. Walters George P. Larrance auditors J Maurice Haynes.
At the March social of Pine Tree Circle No. 826 C of F of A prizes in whist went to Mrs. Thomas Malin and Mrs. Earl Allen while Mrs. Catherine earned bridge prizes. Supper at 6 30 featured crabmeat salad hot rolls and more with Mrs. Alice Burgess Mrs. Annie Wilson and Mrs. Anna Conley as supper committee.
Returns show Fred Brown of 16 Center street and Mary E. Pinkham of Middle street were married March 17 by Dr. David L. Wilson at Central Church parsonage 898 Middle street. Commissioner George J. Stable notes that the fish fry program is progressing well and expected to yield strong outputs.
Mrs Percy C Bailey hosted the Woolwich Book Club Thursday afternoon with Miss Mary L Dodge in charge. Fifteen members attended as discussions covered important cities, historical incidents, and vivid photographs. The group noted Christian work among lower castes, reported on the December Inter denominational Conference in Madras, and planned Spring meetings. Mrs Wilson M Wright will lead next meeting on April 20 on the Urban and Rural Church contrast.

Commander Roger F. McCall USN recently detached as inspector of machinery at Bath Iron Works was honored with a farewell dinner in Bath. The event, organized by George Baer Connard, featured Archibald M. Main as toastmaster and included a boxed fountain pen and pencil set gift.
Mrs. John K. Jayne of New Canaan Connecticut formerly Dorothy Sewall of Bath won second place in the American glass container arrangement class at the New York Grand Central Palace flower show. The New Canaan Garden club member impressed judges as 30,000 horticulture lovers attended the event with over 2,000,000 blooms on display. The show was described as the most marvelous yet with unusually close competition among entrants.
The Ladies aid of Central church hosted a Friday day session in the parish house with a St. Patrick's Day noon dinner for both women and men. Menu featured baked white fish egg sauce potato green peas green salad hot rolls coffee pistachio ice cream and wafers. Guests wore shamrocks and harps while the group sewed quilt pieces and planned an Easter sale. Committee members Foote Mrs Charles T Jackson Mrs George W Tobey and Mrs Joseph E Avery led the event. Mrs Alfred McCabe of Cobbroad visits Fredericton to care for her ill father Murray T Long and will return Friday as he convalesces.
At Dromore Grange Hall in Phippsburg the Dromore Farm Bureau held an all day session. Eva Rogers led dyeing demonstrations including removing dye from a dress and redyeing it. Techniques for refinishing art squares and worn carpets were shown. Nine members attended the meeting with notes on an in between session led by Mrs Stewart Day to fit hand woven sweaters.
The W. C. T. U. met at county president Mrs. Mary Pratt's home to discuss Alcohol education and cancer links. Readings included "Alcohol, and its relation to Cancer" and "Thus saith Reason, Thus Saith Science, Thus Saith the Lord" with an ABO broadcast read by Mrs. Nella Stover. Plans were made to raise funds for the Frances E. Willard Centenary Educational Fund and a March 28 social gathering was announced.

Fort Fairfield market shows life with bids of 1.50 to 1.60 a bushel as buyers take loads for starch plants. Demand is strong, aided by cold weather and Maine distribution. farmers hold back, with a possible rise to 2.00 if trends continue. Miss Ethel Blake of Boothbay visited friends in the city.
Miss Sarah A Adams shared photographs and experiences from Madrid at a Cosmopolitan club round table in the Current Events department. Mrs Herbert R Lemont spoke on Maine and committee. Mrs John Parker showed armaments spending by leading nations. Mrs Joseph I Smith discussed recent Central Europe events. A Young India Movement discussion followed. Next meeting set for April.
Capt. Frank J. Walker of Woolwich spoke to Grace Church's Men's club in the parish house on his engineering work in British Guiana. He described locating bauxite deposits for a subsidiary of the Aluminum Company of America and shared experiences with local people and living conditions before a general discussion and supper served by St. Mary's Guild.
The annual meeting of the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society of the Church of the Nazarene was held Friday afternoon at 9 Deering Street, home of Mrs. Nellie Brown. Officers elected include Mrs. Minnie French president, Mrs. Brown ist vice president, Miss Lois Palmer 2nd vice president, Mrs. Lillian Mayo secretary, Alma Reid treasurer. Iva Kenney chosen superintendent of study, Palmer secretary of Prayer and Fasting league, with James Goodwin, Eva Praser, Kenney visiting committee and Mayo and Brown membership committee.
