Winter Street Church wins YMCA Church League title in 1987
Winter Street Church basketball team defeated Central 39 to 17 to claim the YMCA Church League crown for the 1987 season before 300 fans. Led by Hank Gallagher and Harold Stanton, Winter jumped early, dominated the second half with a tight man-to-man defense, and secured their 17th win in 19 starts. St. Mary’s defeated Wesley 41-21 in a preliminary game.
