Low House as Landmark in Riggsville History

The Low family legacy in Riggsville centers on the Julia Baker and its captains. Captain Francis, known as Frank, sailed from Richmond Maine to New York then up the James River to load oysters, was captured after his vessel burned, and died in Andersonville in 1865. Brother Warren built a Riggsville home and business ties while Llewellyn and Guy Lows left lively marks on village life with eccentric deeds, mail runs, and wood切work. The house, later owned by Aubrey Fullerton and family, remains a coastal landmark with ties to Boothbay Harbor and local lore.
