Gene Leeman aged 11 arrives in Portland with brother Ted 14 to spend the summer with Maine relatives. They traveled from Los Angeles by jet plane to visit grandparents in Portland and will visit Woodland and Osborn before returning to California in mid September.

Funeral services for John J. Marks will be held at 1.30 p.m. Thursday at Arthur F. Mayo & Son Funeral Residence. The Rockland native, born May 8, 1881, was a retired painter and paper hanger and had served Bath in local government and veteran groups. He leaves two sons, a brother and five grandchildren. Longtime Morse High instructor J Edward Pomeroy dies

J Edward Pomeroy 63 a sub master and mechanical drawing instructor at Morse high school died Friday at Bath Memorial hospital after a several day illness. He taught at Morse since 1922 and advised many graduating classes. He was active in amateur radio and Civil Air Patrol and a 32nd degree Mason with ties to Bath and Lewiston. He is survived by sister Louise Gowell Pomeroy Bath brother George Pomeroy Waltham cousin Mrs Henry G Shaw Bath and other relatives. His son William died in 1952.
