Alumni Banquet Draws 600 at Morse High
More than 600 alumni and guests filled Morse High gym Thursday evening for the annual alumni banquet and meeting with officer elections. Raymond C. Small was reelected president. Edwin R. Andrews became vice president. Eleanor Voorhees, secretary. Florence Calderwood, treasurer. and committee members named. The 50 year, 25 year, and 1924 six decades groups were represented with speeches, gifts, and a public address system donated by the 25 year class. An after dinner program featured music, comedy, and dancing with Joe Avery’s orchestra.

Newell couple attends MIT fiftieth reunion
Mr and Mrs William S Newell returned from Boston where they attended the 50th reunion of Mr Newell s MIT class in Cambridge with 30 of 150 graduates returning. The group drew notable attention at the event with Mr Newell and Mrs Newell meeting President James Killian and Mrs Killian. They also attended Colby College commencement exercises the next day.

Bath firemen observed Memorial Sunday with a parade and exercises at Oak Grove Cemetery Memorial lot. About 60 took part including call firemen and Torrent No 1 Veteran Firemen’s association and the W S Newell Handtub association. The Torrent fife and drum corps gave an exceptional appearance while Dominics High School band of Lewiston supplied music. The memorial address was by Rev Charles R Sims and Maj Albert Warren of the Salvation Army gave the benediction. A light lunch followed at Central Fire station.
