Robert L Hogan's funeral was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the A F Mayo and Son Funeral residence with Rev Dr Oliver W Bell of Wesley Methodist Church officiating. Bearers listed were Robert Phinney Frank Rittall Eubra Troop Harry Day Elmer Williams and Scott Morse. Burial followed in the family lot at Oakgrove.
Albert G Longley died recently with funeral rites held at Curtis Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Craig of Central Congregational church officiated. Bearers were Richard J. Frates, Robert Starling, William Longley and Water Longley. Interment followed at Oak Grove.
The Bath Lodge of Elks received City Council approval at the June meeting to hold concerts in the Park. The new band directed by James E. Footer Jr features local and college musicians from Bath and Brunswick with practice sessions at the Legion home. Members include Hugh Hollingshead Earl Small Joan Pagurko Cecil Fullerton Jr Carl White Joseph Fullerton Robert Bragg John Wakefield Robert Rice Donald Lewis William Potter Patricia Ames Cecil Rowland Edward Rogers Lucy Smith Harvey Hartleb Earl Moore Robert Allen Duane Bailey and William Bodwell. Plans include several summer concerts with dates to be announced and contact points Gerald Rioux or James Footer Jr for engagement or participation.
Michael Wallace son of Mr and Mrs Lafayette Wallace of Bluff Road is listed as a patient at Memorial Hospital.
Robert L. Hogan 73, resident of Spinney's Mills Arrowsic, died Saturday at Bath Memorial Hospital. Born July 18, 1886 in Arrowsic, son of Edward and Henrietta Hogan, he is survived by his widow Florence Probst Hogan, daughter Carol Ainsworth, two grandchildren, and cousins. He worked at Bath Iron Works, Fore River, New London Ship and Engine, The Foundation Company, Newport News Shipyard, and the U S Maritime Commission, retiring June 30 1951 as chief of specifications. He spent winters in Washington, D C and summers in Arrowsic, living in Arrowsic since 1956 and was a New London Elks member.
Marguerite A Arsenault 131 Center Street Bath died Wednesday June 3 after a hospital stay beginning Sunday Memorial hospital where she had been a patient. She was 50 years a Bath resident born April 12 1884 Egmon Bay Prince Edward Island daughter of Nathan and Elizabeth Gallant. Survived by husband Joseph Gilbert Arsenault daughter Josephine Bennett Bath brother John Gallant Lawrence Mass two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was a member of St and its Assumption Society.
Albert G. Longley 86 longtime Bath resident and upholsterer died Monday at Bath Memorial hospital. Born December 2, 1873 in Bath, he was son of Cyrus W. and Hannah Williams Longley. He belonged to the Universalist church and formerly served in the Bath Fire Department. Survived by wife Maude Monsell Longley, one son Cyrus W. Longley, Bath, one daughter Mrs. Florence Chase East Pepperell Massachusetts, ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Committal services for Mrs. Frank Philips 92 who died last February in Bradenton Florida will be at Oak Grove Thursday at 1130 a m. The Rev Martin V B Sargent of Winter Street Congregational church will lead. A Bath native she had lived in Bradenton eight years with three Bath nieces Mrs James Bonney Mrs Elmer Rogers and Mrs Althea Ward and a Bath nephew Sewall
