Sagadahoc Liquor Bust Seizes 311 Cases Worth Near $30,000
Sheriff Albert Henderson and a task force halted a 17 hour liquor run along Sagadahoc county shorelines. They recovered 311 cases of whisky valued at nearly $30,000 from Marrtown West Point Georgetown and a Bath storage site. Investigators tied the operation to a Bath based network and identified suspects Leo White and Paul Marshall as linked to the shipments.

Sagadahoc Pomona with Dromore grange met Wednesday with 95 attendees from Progress ive of Richmond Corner Merrymeeting of Bowdoinham Topsham Dirigo of Brunswick Five Islands Woolwich West Bath Bodwell of Small Point. Memorial day program featured readings, music, prayers, and a roll call of deceased members. Rev F B Lyman of Naples addressed the gathering praising the Grange and its stand on the 18th amendment.

Woman Injured in Brunswick Bath Highway Auto Crash
Miss Margaret Higgins of Woolwich suffered non serious injuries when her Ford coupe collided with Celia Povich’s Hupmobile on the Brunswick Bath highway near Brunswick Friday morning about 8 30. Higgins was taken to the Carlton home in Woolwich for medical care.

Half grown deer visits Old Folks Home on Kennebec
A half grown deer appeared at the Old Folks Home Thursday around 11 30 a.m. It walked to the water and swam toward the Arrowsic shore but was swept away by the current and drowned. The animal is believed to have come from woods west of High Street. Also noted, Miss Phyllis Wright and Miss Helen Jones left Saturday to visit Miss Wright's uncle Charles Bruce in Belfast.

Frank R Bailey Farm In Same Family For More Than Three Centuries
Frank R Bailey, a Woolwich farmer, runs a 150 acre cultivated tract with 250 acres of woodlot and pasture. The farm, in the family since the early 1600s, features modern equipment, 52 cattle including 24 milking cows, and a 500-tree orchard. Bailey serves on Woolwich selectmen for six years and has held leadership roles in a local insurance company and Woolwich grange, while his collie Lindy herds cows along Sasanoa river views near Bath.

Alfred F Green Dies In Auto Crash Near Bath
Alfred F. Green, 29, ship fitter of 18 Summer Street Court, father of three, was killed Friday at 6 55 when his Buick overturned on the highway between the State road and Bath Country Club. Officials say escaping through the right door would have likely spared him. the car dragged on its side, mutilating his scalp. The vehicle belonged to Councilman Frank E. Freeman of 41 Beacon Street.
