Ancient Augusta manor linked to Fort Augusta site
Local notes recount a 1717 rumor of a brick yard near the old Fort Augusta area, with bricks longer than current ones found by the marsh. The piece catalogs community activity from Miss Martha Hunt’s project trips to Freeport, to road conditions on Bassin road, and a string of social news from Bath area residents and visitors, including family updates, relocations, and local incidents such as Mrs. Beals’s accident and the Perry fire loss.
