County Grangers Meet Thrusday With Enterprise
Past Masters Association and Lecturers Council of Sagadahoc county met with Enterprise grange at Richmond Corner Thursday evening with about 70 in attendance. A chicken pie supper was served. Guests included Kennebec Pomona master Alton Collins. Lecturers Council discussed future programs. The evening featured songs, solos, duets, readings, and a quiz on courage. Plans announced for an August picnic.

Col. F. H. Farnham of Augusta is appointed chairman of the Capital City Parking District. He has served as secretary treasurer since the district began and advised Bath discussions. Bath municipal parking interest is weak but may revive this Fall ahead of Maine legislative session soon. A new cement walk now borders the U S Post Office grounds and the flag pole was moved to clear elm branches.

Air Reserves Training At Brunswick Draws Sailors
Reserve squadrons from across the eastern U S conduct two week training at Naval Air Station Brunswick with Corsair F4U fighters. About 12 to 14 units, each 100 sailors and 15 to 20 aircraft, will fly 40 to 50 hours apiece. Off duty, crews join local coast events and sea cruises from Old Orchard Beach to South Weymouth.

Rotary Youth Town Conference Observed at Orono
The Bath Rotary Club sent one boy to the annual Boy's State Conference in Orono. Gary Parker reported on the event detailing its two county and six town structure and election simulations. Attendees explored town government, campaigns, and voting rights for 18 year olds while enjoying afternoon athletics and speeches from officials. The gathering emphasized friendships across Maine with about 285 participants and notable mentors.

Battery B Guards 90mm Guns At Maine Training Camp
Battery B of the Maine Army National Guard conducted the 1954 annual field training at Camp Wellfleet and Camp Edwards Mass from June 26 to July 10. The unit fired three courses and knocked down two targets despite delays caused by weather. Governor Burton Cross joined the exercise, observed radar target tracking, fired a 90 mm gun, and had film of the event shown on WGAN TV. The Battery B communications section led by Sgt Just L Wold and Sgt Robert A Lowery was praised for top communications during the exercise.
