The nation’s March of Dimes raised a record 30,783,000 in January 1950, with Bath and Sagadahoc County contributing their part. National Foundation president Basil O Connor said 49, or about half, of the funds support local care while the rest funds research and epidemic aid. Emergency aid totaling 2,666,129.70 has been advanced to chapters this year with New York California and Illinois leading in totals.

Moving picture theater opens with new seating in town
The Odd Fellows hall theater held its first invited showing on Thursday and its first public show on Friday. Randolph manager David B. Eleven boys received Y M C A Life Saving and Water Safety certificates after completing 20 hours of training with the Y M C A’s physical director.
