Machines Largely Responsible For Many Losing Jobs
J. W. Brown argues that machine automation and NRA limits worsen unemployment despite production gains. He cites A. O. Smith’s new mill displacing 1,800 workers, a bank’s clerical job losses, and a push toward a 30 hour week with taxed unemployment. He predicts further government spending and caps on income as essential to justice and economic necessity.
