Groves Wills Wedding On Christmas Eve
At Skowhegan on Christmas Eve Miss Elsie Louise Wills daughter of Mr and Mrs Leslie Wills of Mercer became the bride of Linwood Laforest Groves son of Linwood Groves of Bath. The ceremony was performed by Rev Walter L Shepard with the double ring service. The bride wore a fuchsia crepe gown with hat to match and white chrysanthemum corsage. Attendant was Elizabeth I Groves sister of the groom in royal blue crepe with a black hat and white chrysanthemum corsage. Br Groves served in the U S Navy in European and Pacific theaters earning a Presidential Unit Citation Euro Campaign Ribbon Asian Pacific Ribbon Philippine Liberation Ribbon American Campaign Ribbon and Good Conduct Ribbon. The couple reside with Mr Groves grandfather Eugene Swain and are engaged in lumbering and farming.

Woolwich Grange held a Wednesday meeting with 31 members and guests from Huntoon Hill West Bath Bodwell and Edgecomb granges. Master Merle Jameson welcomed the visitors and remarks came from Mrs Lucy Armstrong and Guy Payne. Two members ill Shirley Hunnewell and Herbert McIntire were noted for well wishes. Ada Colby resignation as lecturer announced and a new lecturer to be appointed. Installations set for Jan 15 with G Cleveland Marriner as installing officer. Dancing school program featured with Charlotte’s School of Dancing pupils including Marilyn Temple Pauline Colby Merline Jameson and others performing taps acrobatics duets and a closing thought by Ruth Leeman.
