Junior Hospital League New Year Ball a Big Success
The Junior Hospital League held its New Year Eve ball in the Arcade, led by Mr. and Mrs. Fred D. Hill. More than 150 couples attended, decorations used blue and white lights, and Ernie George and his Royal Arcadians provided music. Over $200 was raised for charitable work and many guests from Bath and nearby towns joined the celebration.

Icy Friday morning driving on Center street sent Harry W. Smith’s Franklin sedan out of control and into an electric light pole near Grace Episcopal Church on Oak Street opposite Oakhurst Dairy. A Pontiac driven by Mrs. Arthur W. King slid up Oak Street hill, veered onto a sidewalk, and struck the west end of Grace Church cracking a rear choir room board. no major structural damage noted.
