Phippsburg notes recount Perkins family history and coastal forts
In Phippsburg on Cox's Head and Cranberry Point the Perkins family story unfolds from a 1812 fort to later homes. The area saw Civil War era earthworks, four cannons relocated in 1814, and lifelong seafaring ties. Local residents share holiday memories, storms, and community notes including school, PTA meetings, car troubles, and church roles among families like Perkins, Seavey, and Bowker.
