Morse Sons Cut Largest Pines On Sewall Lot Near Bath

The John G Morse and Sons lumbering firm completed winter operations near Bath cutting some of the largest pines in years on the Sewall lot near Mill Pond Route One. Logs yield 1799 board feet of top grade lumber in one load. Smaller trees remain for future seasons as the firm uses selective cutting to favor growth. A freak tree with a lightning-charmed hollow shows daylight from base to top. Moose have used another Morse work site near Everett Harrington’s home for shelter.
