First Nomination Paper Filed For Bath Board Of Education
Ellen R Owen wife of ex Postmaster Henry W Owen filed the first nomination for the Bath March election with city clerk John W Gilmore. The petition with 42 signatures headed by Alden G Smith lists Owen as candidate to fill Miss Frostina E Marstons Board of Education seat. Marston who serves two terms endorses Owen and Miss Marston missed few meetings, mostly while in Florida and Augusta. The report notes a Shrine club smoker event drawing about 900 Shriners and Blue Lodge Masons at Kora Temple with banquet, vaudeville and social time.
