Narrow Escape of Bath Motorist
Stanley Bickle a Central Maine Power Co employee had a narrow escape on an icy Woolwich road en route to Wiscasset. His Ford slid off the embankment but was saved by a post preventing a plunge. he suffered only bruises. A passing truck pulled the car back onto the road, damaged but not severely. Adelard Dubuc, Biddeford city truck worker and ward alderman candidate, survived a cave-in at the city gravel pit when coworkers quickly uncovered him.

Bridge traffic rose sharply with 27,753 persons and 14,540 motor vehicles crossing in January 1932, lifting receipts to 4745.60. Extended motor registration to March 1 and improved roads helped sustain the rise versus January 1931, despite earlier declines.
Captain and Mrs Cole Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary
Capt. and Mrs. Charles W. Cole received five envelopes of gold along with many cards notes and telegrams on their golden wedding anniversary. They marked the day at home of daughter Mrs Burton W Saunders 1202 Washington Street with a family dinner attended by three daughters and three grandchildren. Mrs Cole cut the anniversary cake. Capt. Cole 78 and Mrs Cole ten years younger remain in good health and active.
